Melanie Lamoureux is one of the youngest experienced directors and producers in Chicago. She holds a Bachelors of Music Education (Voice) from the University of Toronto and a Masters of Music (Musical Theatre) from the Boston Conservatory.
Through BAM, Melanie has directed: Violet, Chicago, Little Shop of Horrors, and others. At the Boston Conservatory, Melanie directed How Can You Run With A Shell On Your Back? For her graduating thesis project, Melanie wrote, directed and performed in an original musical based on the Jeannette Walls memoir The Glass Castle. She is currently assisting in the casting office at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater!
An accomplished performer, Melanie has had significant roles in many Chicago, Toronto, and Boston area productions. Favorites include: Annie Sullivan (The Miracle Worker), Hope Cladwell (Urinetown), and Audrey (Little Shop of Horrors).
