BCE CLASSES

Every Sunday, students will take class for the first hour. In the Fall Term, students will explore the art of storytelling and ensemble building as they rotate between Song Interpretation and Acting every week. In Song Interpretation, students will discover the journey of telling a story through song, as they work on solo musical theatre repertoire. In Acting, students will discover how to work together as an ensemble and learn tools and practices for becoming a dynamic force on the stage. In the Spring Term, students will get reenergized with Musical Theatre Dance, where they will learn dance combinations from various styles of Musical Theatre.

PRODUCTION REHEARSALS

Students have the opportunity to participate in two exclusive BCE productions throughout the course of this program. The production component of the BCE program aims to expand the horizons of our students by introducing them to something they would rarely have an opportunity to study and perform. It is our desire to present a completely new and fresh piece of musical theatre - either a title that has rarely been produced, or a completely fresh take on a more familiar piece of theatre.

This year, the BAM Conservatory Ensemble will have two productions, one in the fall and one in the spring. It is possible for the students to opt out of one production, and instead take a non-performance role, should this be necessary for scheduling purposes.

NYC Trip ***Optional Add-On Experience***

An all new component of the BCE program!!! We are thrilled to announce this add-on opportunity for BCE students. We are working with an NYC based group travel organization, to plan the trip of a lifetime for students obsessed with all things Broadway. Check out the highlights below.

BCE ATTENDANCE & PARTICIPATION POLICY

All students selected for BCE must participate in all components of the programs. Students are allowed no more than 3 absences from the total curriculum. Students may choose to participate in one of the productions in a non-performance capacity (stage management, assistant director, costume/tech design, etc), but this must be communicated at the time of auditions. Tuition is the same for all students, whether they are performing in one or both of the productions. View the full schedule HERE.

COVID-19 CONTIGENCY

It is our goal to meet in person for all facets of this program. If it is deemed necessary by the restrictions set forth by the CDC or State of Illinois to alter our plans, we will do so. This could include live-streaming performances, or transitioning to a virtual platform for classes and production rehearsals/performances. By registering for this program, students agree to participate in all program structure variations. To better understand these plans, please refer to our BAM COVID-19 Policies
