BAM @ a Distance: NEW - Classe Series!

It's time to take it up a notch! BAM @ a Distance - SCHOOL'S OUT Edition! Our new summer series will offer the same workshops, book clubs, and social media engagement that we have all come to love, while also offering additional virtual programming.


We are introducing 4 NEW classes throughout the month of June:

Broadway Masters, Broadway Choreo Intensive, Improv Electric, and Virtual Show Choir!

- "Breaking into the Business" Weekly Seminar -

Every week will also include a 30 minute exclusive seminar led by Chicago actors, Ryan Naimy and Patrick Hill. Topics like breaking into the New York City and Chicago markets, preparing your rep book, audition technique, and more will be covered.

Patrick Hill

PATRICK HILL is a music director, musician, and teaching artist based in Chicago. He holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Western Michigan University. Patrick has performed and music directed at regional theaters and amusement parks across the Midwest, and in Chicago. For the past three years, Patrick has worked as a coach for high school and college students on audition technique and singing acting, as well as accompanying classes and master classes. Patrick currently teaches in several programs at BAM, at Fenwick High School, and in the musical theatre department at Chicago High School for the Arts.

Ryan Naimy

RYAN NAIMY is an AEA singer, actor, dancer and musician based in Chicago. Throughout the five years Ryan resided in New York, he was lucky enough to perform in venues all over the country, from summer stocks and regional theatres to touring houses and arenas.  After living out of two suitcases for most of his NYC years, he then packed his bags and transitioned to Chicago, excited to break into the theatre scene there. Since moving to the Windy City, Ryan has performed consistently and enjoys living and working in one place.

Drop in Master Class Rate: $30 per Observation / $100 per Performance Spots (as they are available)

Tuition includes access to all five master classes, guaranteed performance spots at two classes, and the weekly seminar. Students may choose to add on additional performance spots for the remaining 3 classes at a later date, pending availability.

Learn choreography from Broadway's hottest shows...right from your living room! This five-week dance intensive will teach you choreography from a variety of Broadway shows. Students will vote on one of the dances to be featured in a special video!

Meet Your Choreographer!

ISAIAH SILVIA-CHANDLEY, originally from Amherst, NH, is a Chicago-based musical theatre actor and choreographer. Isaiah has performed on stages across Chicago-land such as The Goodman Theatre, Drury Lane Theatre and Porchlight Music Theatre. As a choreographer, Isaiah will be choreographing the regional premier of Kinky Boots at Paramount Theatre next summer. Prior to working professionally, Isaiah trained extensively at The School at Jacob's Pillow and Broadway Dance Center, with an emphasis in Musical Theatre Dance. Isaiah graduated in spring of 2018 with a BFA in Musical Theatre Performance from Columbia College Chicago. He is very excited to collaborate with BAMtheatre!

Solidify your improv skills over this 5-week program! Our Second City teachers will guide you through character study, joke writing, and much, much more! This hysterical program will culminate in a live virtual improv show for your friends and family to watch! 

CLAIRE DREWS has been working with BAMtheatre for over ten years. A proud graduate of Indiana University (B.A. Theatre & Drama, minor in Dance), she works consistently as an educator, improviser, and performer. With BAM, Claire most recently directed the Broadway Kids production of The Sound of Music and taught a virtual improv spotlight class. She wears many hats at BAM, including director (Frozen, Cinderella, Into the Woods, and over 20 BWS sessions), teaching artist (Yes And!: An Intro to Improv and Creating a Character), stage manager, and creative team member. Claire recently graduated from the Second City Conservatory program. She has also worked as a coach for the esteemed Downers Grove South High School speech team, coaching students in both competitive acting events (comedy and drama) and public speaking. She is currently pursuing a Master's in Secondary English Education at National Louis University and recently received her Professional Educators License.

Meet your Second City Teachers!

JIM MOUREY is a professor of marketing and author based in Chicago. He holds a BSBA in Marketing from Washington University in St. Louis and Ph.D. in Business Administration (Marketing) from the University of Michigan.  Professor by day, Jim moonlights as an improv actor, singer-songwriter, and a cappella aficionado.  A graduate of The Second City Training Center’s improv, music improv, writing, and Conservatory programs, as well as a former student at iO and The Annoyance, Jim has been a writer and performer in sold-out sketch reviews throughout Chicago and teaches the course “Life from Chicago: Discovering Improv Comedy’s Hometown” to incoming freshmen at DePaul University. Jim also sits on the international board of Creative Opportunities Unlimited and helps direct the Illinois Odyssey of the Mind program for gifted and talented youth.

Missing the chance to sing and dance? So are we!! Join us for BAM's Virtual Show Choir - over the course of 5 weeks, you will learn the music and choreography for three show choir numbers. The final performance will be live streamed for all your friends and family to watch!

Peter Bromann

PETER BROMANN (Music Director) uses his diverse musical background of classical voice and piano and musical theater to provide an exceptional educational experience. When not curating his own Christian youth music eLearning YouTube show titled “Mr. Bromann’s Cabaret” (@mrbcabaret) he collaborates with many Chicago based artists and organizations to lead musical theatre and audition workshops, and has been called in to accompany auditions for Broadway National Touring companies. Favorite creative positions include those with St. Isaac Jogues teaching k-8 music, Angels Sing Inc., SciTech Hand-On Children’s Museum (Aurora), St. Barbara Parish (Brookfield), Fenwick High School (Oak Park), Theater of Western Springs, Clarendon Hills Middle School, St. Mary of Gostyn, Lyons Township, and Natural Talent Productions (Arcadia Theater- St. Charles). We are currently in rehearsals for our first ever Zoomsical Extravaganza production! All rehearsals occur over Zoom in this unique production experience. Once the material is taught, footage is recorded  and a professional video editor will make a final cut of the Zoomsical. The program will culminate in a live stream showing of the video! Registration for BAM’s first Zoomsical production is SOLD OUT, but we will be launching our second Zoomsical production in June! Stay tuned!

Dan Cassin

DAN CASSIN is thrilled to be returning to BAMtheatre as Director of their first ever Zoomsical. He is a graduate of the NYU Tisch School of the Arts. He has recently been working in NYC off-broadway and internationally with Disney. With BAMtheatre he has directed countless Broadway Workshop Series and previous Youth theatre productions as well. Excited to be embarking on this digital journey.
