INTERNSHIPS, APPRENTICESHIPS & WORK STUDY

BAM's unique Internship Program provides high school and college level students the opportunity to get hands on experience in Directing, Management, Design, Education, and more. Interning with BAM is a wonderful way for students to get involved on the creative side of this theatre organization, and many internships lead to bigger opportunities within the company in subsequent seasons. In fact, the majority of our staff today first began their BAM involvement as students and interns at BAMtheatre!

Internships are now available YEAR ROUND! Work with us over the summer in the BAM Youth Theatre, BAM College Intensive, and Broadway Workshop Series programs, and in the fall and spring through our Broadway Kids! and BAM After School Enrichment programs. New in 2020, BAM is now also offering a Summer Apprenticeship position. Please see below for more information on this summer long position that will focus on producing, management, and marketing for theatre!

Opportunities are different for each program. Use the menu to the right to explore what each opportunity entails, and see which program is right for you!

" Interning as a high school student has opened so many doors for me to explore professionally. Without that summer internship, I wouldn't be the teacher, director, and performer I am today. The collaborative environment at BAM allows room for growth for actors and teachers at all levels, and in the past ten years I have worked at BAM as a director, stage manager, and teaching artist. The passion for educating and working with students I have today was ignited at BAM; the skills I've learned at BAM, from my fellow directors and teachers to the actors and new interns, carry over into every aspect of my professional life. I would highly recommend working with BAM to anyone interested in the arts - it will change your life as it has changed mine."

Another pull quote

"BAM’s intern programs have benefited me in so many different aspects of my life! I have worked on many different BAM programs - getting to share some of the knowledge that I have learned in other BAM programs has been beneficial to both the students and myself.  The BAM staff and the morals they teach are truly one of a kind, and I am so lucky to have been involved in so many amazing programs!"

“Being an intern at BAM was one of my first glimpses into the parts of theater other then performance, and to me it was an irreplaceable experience. It helped me earn the leadership skills necessary to be successful, and I got the chance to hands- on problem solve. I also loved helping younger performers hone their craft.  I’m so thankful for the internship program at BAM!”
