Hands-on Theatre Tech Experience for Students in Grades 7–12

This summer, BAMtheatre is excited to relaunch our Summer Crew Club — a hands-on technical theater experience for students entering Grades 7–12. Crew Club members will work alongside BAM’s production staff on our summer mainstage productions of Urinetown and The SpongeBob Musical, gaining real-world experience in the fast-paced, collaborative world of live theater.
From backstage to the booth, students will play an active role in bringing these productions to life while learning the skills that make theater happen. Opportunities include scenic construction, props, costumes, lighting, sound, stage management, and run crew.
Designed for both beginners and students with previous experience, Crew Club helps participants build confidence, creativity, teamwork, and leadership skills in a professional and supportive environment.
This Summer 2026 relaunch marks the beginning of an expanded vision for technical theater training at BAMtheatre, with plans to continue growing crew and production opportunities in future seasons. Crew Club is free to join, with a $25 fee for the official crew uniform shirt if you intend to participate on run crew for one of the productions.
