SUMMER CAMPS

Registration for Summer 2023 Open Now!

BAMtheatre’s unique Broadway Workshop Series (BWS) is the perfect summer camp for any kid who has a theatrical side! BAM offers varied summer camp styles, perfect to delight every kind of performer! Morning sessions will meet from 10am - 1pm, and Afternoon sessions will meet from 1:30 - 4:30pm. Pending demand, additional sessions may open up. All camps will culminate with either a production or showcase revue. Tuition Rates for One Week Camps:

Super Early-Bird Tuition (By March 1) - $265

Early-Bird Tuition (By April 1) - $280

Regular Tuition - $295

All camps will take place in Hinsdale or Clarendon Hills. All campers will receive a t-shirt which they will wear for the performance. View BAM's tuition policy.

Session 1 (Broadway Bound):

SEUSSICAL KIDS

June 12 - 16, 2023

Monday - Friday, 3 hours/day
Final Performance Friday, June 16

(Performance will take place afternoon or evening on 6/16.)

Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in this fun and fantastical musical extravaganza! Journeying from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat, our narrator, tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant! This is a Broadway Bound camp, where students will audition for, rehearse, and perform a 30 minute musical - all in one week!

Session 2 (Showstopper):

Songs of a Disney Villain

Other Villainous Movies)

June 26 - July 1, 2023

Monday - Saturday, 3 hours/day
Final Performance Saturday, July 1

What does it take to be W-I-C-K-E-D?! Campers are sure to be rotten to the core in this high energy camp, incorporating the medley, "Songs of a Disney Villain", as well as hit songs from the Descendants movies. Throughout the week, campers will explore what it’s like to be a VILLAIN, as they dive into their favorite villainous characters, and even create their own! This is a Showstopper camp, where students will learn and perform a medley of songs and also take part in other activities inspired by the camp theme.

Session 3 (Showstopper):

Songs from Frozen 2

July 10 - 15, 2023

Monday - Saturday, 3 hours/day
Final Performance Sat, July 15

Calling all precious Princesses and Princes! Join us in this fun week of Frozen 2 and royal fun!!! Campers will learn a medley of songs from Frozen 2 and also sing and dance to their other princess favorites! Throughout the week, in addition to learning songs and dances, each child will dive into the world of Frozen and also explore what it would be like if they had magical powers. This is a Showstopper camp, where students will learn and perform a medley of songs and also take part in other activities inspired by the camp theme.

Disney's The Lion King has captivated the imagination of audiences around the world, and this summer the African savannah will come to life on the BAM stage with Simba, Rafiki and an unforgettable cast of characters as they journey from Pride Rock to the jungle... and back again, in the inspiring, coming-of-age musical story we all know and love. This is a Broadway Bound camp, where students will audition for, rehearse, and perform a 30 minute musical - all in one week!

Hits from Grease

& 50s Fun!

July 24 - 29, 2023

Monday - Saturday, 3 hours/day
Final Performance Saturday, July 29

GREASE IS THE WORD! Campers will flip their lid in this awesome camp, featuring a medley of songs from the hit musical. Diving into the world of Grease, campers will also explore the culture of the 50s, learning authentic dance moves, slang, and even venturing into designing their own 50s inspired clothing! This is a Showstopper camp, where students will learn and perform a medley of songs and also take part in other activities inspired by the camp theme.

MEAN GIRLS JR

Cady Heron may have grown up on an African savanna, but nothing prepared her for the wild and vicious ways of her strange new home: suburban Illinois. How will this naïve newbie rise to the top of the popularity pecking order? By taking on The Plastics, a trio of lionized frenemies led by the charming but ruthless Regina George. When the lines between the real Cady and her Plastic self get blurred, she must find her way back to herself and her true friends. This is a Triple Threat camp, which will dive a little deeper into the process of putting on a musical, from auditions to the final performances - all in two weeks! (Please note that the junior version of this musical has been adapted appropriately for this age group.)

Rehearsals & Performances will take place at a location in the Hinsdale or Clarendon Hills area. BAM has developed program structures for every phase of the Illinois Recovery Plan with regards to the COVID-19 pandemic. While it is our goal to meet in person for this program, if it is necessary to alter the program structure, we will do so. By registering for this program, students agree to participate in all program structure variations. To better understand these plans, please refer to our BAM COVID-19 Policies.
