BAM SHOWSTOPPERS
2026/27 SEASON: FIND YOUR VOICE!
Audition for BAM’s Newest Competitive Performance Ensemble
Get ready to take center stage with Showstoppers, BAM’s newest audition-based vocal performance ensemble for students in Grades 4–12 who are passionate about singing, movement, and musical storytelling.
Blending the high-energy style of show choir with the storytelling depth and stage presence of musical theatre, Showstoppers offers advanced training in vocal technique, choreography, musicianship, music literacy, and ensemble performance. Selected through audition, students collaborate to create and perform dynamic themed medleys of songs, built for both special events and competitive performance opportunities, including out-of-state festivals such as the National Performing Arts Festival (NPAF).
Designed for dedicated performers seeking an additional layer of training beyond traditional theatre productions, Showstoppers provides a focused space to strengthen vocal artistry, musical understanding, and stage confidence while building strong ensemble connections. It serves both as a pathway into BAM’s Conservatory Ensemble programs and as a meaningful extension for current conservatory students looking to deepen their vocal and musical skill set.
Whether stepping toward advanced training or expanding an existing performance journey, Showstoppers offers a bold, collaborative, and unforgettable performance experience where students build artistry, confidence, and lasting friendships while having fun creating something exciting together.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
Students will rehearse weekly throughout the academic year while preparing a polished performance set featuring fun and popular songs, vocal harmonies, dynamic choreography, and engaging storytelling.
Throughout the season, students will:
-
Develop healthy vocal technique
-
Strengthen musicianship and harmony singing skills
-
Learn choreography and movement techniques
-
Build stage presence and performance confidence
-
Explore a variety of musical repertoire
-
Refine ensemble performance skills
-
Prepare for an adjudicated performance and festival

Throughout the year, the team will rehearse and refine a 15-minute medley of songs connected by an overarching theme. The season will culminate in a showcase performance and travel opportunities that allow students to share their work with audiences and industry professionals.

In addition to their primary rehearsal content, Showstoppers will take the lead in our Holiday Caroling Season - spreading joy and holiday spirit in a community focused endeavor.

At BAM, we believe that great performers are more than strong singers. They are storytellers, collaborators, leaders, and artists. Showstoppers is designed to challenge students to perform with excellence while fostering creativity, discipline, and confidence. Through a supportive and high-energy rehearsal environment, students are encouraged to take risks, support one another, and discover what they are capable of as performers.

FESTIVAL & TRAVEL OPPORTUNITIES:
A major component of the Showstoppers experience is participation in educational performance festivals and adjudicated events. For 2026/27, we will be bringing this troupe to the National Performing Arts Festival.
Held at Universal Orlando Resort, the National Performing Arts Festival brings together talented student performers from across the country for an unforgettable experience. This four-day event offers a dynamic mix of professional training and thrilling performance opportunities. Students will participate in adjudicated performances where they’ll receive feedback from industry professionals, attend hands-on masterclasses and workshops, and experience inspiring showcases by other schools and programs. It’s a chance for young artists to grow, collaborate, and shine—all while enjoying the magic of Universal’s world-class theme parks!
Festival and travel expenses are additional costs not included in the base tuition for BCE Prep. Each student must be accompanied by at least one parent, guardian, or designated chaperone. Learn more about BAM travel here.

Please bring sheet music accompanist ready (double sided, three hole punched, in a binder). All should plan on attending the dance call. We will email you an assigned dance call time approximately one week prior to auditions.

Prior to auditions, we will also send you an audition form to complete. Please bring your completed form, along with a headshot (any recent picture) and resume, to your audition.
