CLASSES

BAM offers classes throughout the academic year suitable for actors of all ages and skill level! Classes are designed to help students develop confidence, enhance technique, make friends, and most importantly - have fun! Check out the fall class offerings below. Classes on weekdays & Saturdays meet at Avenue Christian Church, and classes on Sundays will meet at Pure Vibe Dance Studios. All classes meet for a total of 8 sessions. An informal showcase, or open class will take place on the final class day for family and friends to observe the growth and development of their student.

Creative Drama for Tots

“Heroes and Villains” (Ages 0 - 5)

Discover the magic of theater and performing arts in this captivating class for tots! Inspired by our favorite Heroes and Villains, this class combines acting, singing, and imaginative play to foster creativity in our youngest performers. Watch as your little stars shine through engaging activities that include singing, arts and crafts, creative expression, and storytelling! Children aged 0-2 can join with their parents, fostering shared experiences, while 3-5 year-olds can attend solo or with their parents.

Broadway Voices

Experience the thrill of creating beautiful music with others in this dynamic ensemble vocal class! This class will dive into the essentials of developing a strong vocal technique, with a special emphasis on ensemble singing. Together, we will explore a diverse range of songs from Disney’s Broadway Musicals, allowing you to experience the magic of singing together

Grades K - 3: Featuring songs from Moana, Little Mermaid, Aladdin

Acting Onstage: Heroes and Villains

Step into the spotlight and explore the world of Acting Onstage! In this dynamic acting class, students will learn the secrets of character development, motivation, and storytelling through the lens of iconic heroes and villains. Dive into thrilling scenes and monologues, honing your acting skills and unleashing your inner hero or villain. Whether you aspire to be the person who saves the day or the one who will create chaos and mayhem, this class will empower you to bring these captivating characters to life on stage.

Improv Comedy Troupe

In this high energy class, students will work together to explore the fundamentals of improvisational theater. Through engaging exercises and games, students will embrace the power of “yes, and,” and develop creativity, spontaneity, and teamwork while honing their ability to think on their feet. This class encourages a supportive and inclusive environment, fostering self-confidence, bold choices and teamwork!

 Musical Theatre Dance

Musical Theatre Dance is a fun and engaging class that will immerse young performers in the current trends of Musical Theatre Dance. Featuring songs and dances from popular musicals on Broadway today, each class will be structured with a warm-up, technique, and combo segment. Through engaging exercises and choreography, students will develop their dance technique and performance skills while gaining confidence in their ability to shine on stage!

Grades K - 3: Featuring Songs from Wicked, Shucked, The Lion King

Intermediate/Advanced MT Dance & Technique

Take your dance skills to the next level with our Advanced Musical Theatre Dance class. Designed for experienced students who are eager to enhance their technique and elevate their performance abilities, this class is the perfect opportunity to refine your skills and reach new heights. Dive into challenging choreography inspired by Broadway musicals, focusing on precision, style, and expression. Through intensive training and personalized feedback, you will develop strength, flexibility, and artistry, equipping you with the tools necessary to excel in the world of musical theatre.

BCE Prep Class

Sundays, 1:00 - 3:00 pm (Grades 2 - 6)

Final Showcase on Saturday, March 16, 2pm

The BCE Prep Class is an opportunity for students who are considering auditioning for the Broadway Conservatory Ensemble (BCE) in the future, and who are not participating in the current BCE season. This intensive program combines technical training in singing, dancing, and acting with rehearsal for a competition inspired showcase. Students will have the unique opportunity to perform this showcase as a pre-show to the BCE Mainstage production. The class aims to provide aspiring performers with top-notch training, valuable stage experience, and preparation for the BCE audition process.

BAM Crew Club

This activity works in tandem with BAM's Broadway Kids and Mainstage Productions.

BAM's Crew Club works alongside BAM's productions, and provides a thorough introduction to theater production. Led by industry professionals, participants gain hands-on training in set construction, lighting design, sound engineering, prop management, and stage management. Through interactive projects, students develop technical skills, equipment operation, troubleshooting, and teamwork. Ideal for those passionate about behind-the-scenes work and eager to explore the exciting world of theatrical stage crew. If you are interested in this class, please email info@bamtheatre.com.
