Audition for BAM’s Nationally Recognized, Award-Winning

Musical Theatre Training & Competition Team

BCE Prep is designed for young performers who are ready to take the next step in their training. This program offers students the chance to build a strong foundation in acting, voice, and dance, while working together toward an exciting culminating performance at the National Performing Arts Festival (NPAF) at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.

BCE Prep is a launchpad for young performers to begin their journey, find their voices, and discover what they’re truly capable of. Throughout the season, students will grow as artists and teammates, gaining the skills and confidence needed to move into the JrBCE and BCE divisions in the future.

BCE Prep 2026/27 PROGRAM OVERVIEW:

Students selected for this program will be invited to a full season of musical theater training and performance opportunities.

Program Schedule:
Sundays, 12:00 – 3:30pm

Each Sunday includes:

  • Dance Tech | 12:00 – 12:30pm

A 30-minute technique class that helps students develop core dance skills and physical awareness.

  • Rehearsal | 12:30 – 3:30pm

Focused rehearsal time for the competition piece students will bring to NPAF. This year, the competition piece will include an excerpt from the musical Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Rehearsals use methods inspired by competitive theater, encouraging students to use their bodies, voices, and imagination to tell the story. Along the way, students will build ensemble skills and deepen their understanding of performance.

FALL SHOW & SHARE:
Timed alongside the BCE & JrBCE Double Feature, the BCE Prep team will present a special Show & Share experience in early November. Designed as an immersive performance event, the production will transform our rehearsal room into an intimate black box-style theater created specifically for this experience. The Show & Share will take place during Double Feature Weekend on Friday, November 6 prior to the evening BCE & JrBCE performances, and feature scenes and songs from the show.

NATIONAL PERFORMING ARTS FESTIVAL:
Held at Universal Orlando Resort, the National Performing Arts Festival brings together talented student performers from across the country for an unforgettable experience. This four-day event offers a dynamic mix of professional training and thrilling performance opportunities. Students will participate in adjudicated performances where they’ll receive feedback from industry professionals, attend hands-on masterclasses and workshops, and experience inspiring showcases by other schools and programs. It’s a chance for young artists to grow, collaborate, and shine—all while enjoying the magic of Universal’s world-class theme parks!

Festival and travel expenses are additional costs not included in the base tuition for BCE Prep. Each student must be accompanied by at least one parent, guardian, or designated chaperone. Learn more about BAM's travel experiences here.
